Allergology
Skin and mucous membranes (eyes, nose, respiratory tract, oral mucosa) are exposed to the attack of allergens and irritants from the private and professional environment, from inside air and outside air. The following allergic diseases could be assigned to these attacks:
- Allergic hay fever and asthma
- Irritative and allergic contact eczemas
- Allergies against food and conservative, intolerance reactions (as for example fructose malabsorption)
- Bee and wasp allergy
- Latex allergies
- Intolerance reactions against personal care products, dental materials as well as drugs (as for example aspirin)
- Hives (urticarial wheels) and Quincke oedema
If you have the suspicion that you may be allergic to one of the above mentioned substances, we offer you the following diagnostic procedures:
- Suspicion for inhalant allergies such as grass pollen, tree pollen, house dust, animal hairs and mould: skin prick testing, determination of specific IgE antibodies in the blood
- Suspicion for bee / wasp allergies: determination of specific IgE antibodies in the blood, referral to a clinical dermatological outpatient clinic for skin testing and initialization of a hyposensitization
- Suspicion for allergies to food: skin prick testing and scratch testing of food and conservatives, determination of specific IgE antibodies in the blood, determination of further intolerance reactions (e.g. against histamine or fructose)
- Suspicion for allergies to cosmetics, odoriferous substances, ointments, disinfectants, fillers for dental treatments: Patch testing
For the therapy of allergic diseases we offer the following approaches:
- Specific immune therapy (hyposensitization): e.g. hay fever
- Discussion of allergen sources, avoidance of allergens as well as methods suitable for skin protection
- Eczema therapy (atopic dermatitis, contact allergies, work conditioned allergies)
- Consultation for babies and toddlers food (esp. in families suffering from atopic dermatitis)
- Certificates for professional associations, courts and bearers of the social security
